Flat pasture and roadside with a few trees and roadside brush, fine sandy soil. Formerly tropical semi-evergreen or evergreen forest.

Description
Shrub 2 m. tall; trunk with coarse spines. Corolla deep violet when opening, fading to nearly white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
