Stream meandering through sedge-grass meadows
or alders, often braided, 10-25 feet wide,

1-3 feet deep, bottom sand to gravel with
boulders, water brown-stained. Sparganium
chlorocarpum abundant? Potamogeton alpinus,
Callitriche verna, Cardamine pennsylvanica
and Fontinalis common.

Popple River about 2-3 miles downstream from
Wisconsin Highway 55, about 6 miles west of
village of Popple River.
