Description
Very common in 2° growth and Curatella savannas. GHt. 4 m, DBH 10 cm, leaves 4-angled, pinnately compound, 1.7 m long; 0.7 m wide, midrib with spines, present or lacking on shrt (15 cm) petiole; leaf bases persistent to 1/2 way down trunk and then burned. Infl. and spathe 75 cm long, bright yellow on inside of spathe and infl. Producing 3 infl., 1 or 2 wks apart. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
