  • Description

    Stems 4 m. tall, 13 cm. in diameter at base, 20 cm. DBH, unarmed, partly rough from remains of petioles. Crown with 22 green leaves; leaflets 119 per side, at various angles, the erect leaflets with the terminal 15 cm. abruptly hanging. Flowering inflorescence yellow, very thickly fragrant at night, with spathe arching above, yellow within. Fruiting inflorescences 4, with spathes brown, hanging; fruit green. Two trees aliog Río Iténez at the dock at Flor de Oro, planted, apparently not native here in the savanna nor in the gallery forest. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
