This seaweed is eaten by the Tahitians, who call it “Rimu MM,”
oi	salt seaweed. Montagne (Yoy. au Sud Pole, Astrolabe, etc.,
l>ot., vol. 1, p. ,]2, 1845) has credited Viva Lactuca to “Taiti.”
