Habitat
On disturbed road shoulder and drainage into juniper-chokecherry-sagebrush hills. Locally abundant. Tan, sandy clay loam soil, pH ca. 7.2.

Description
Corollas red-violet to deep pink, darker violet at tube base; staminode white; mature anthers brown or blue-black, abaxial pair ± exserted; nectar with a sweet fragrance; mostly in fruit. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
