In a small pond, Eastham, Massachusetts, among other algae
including Oe. decipiens Wittr., and Oe. platygynum Wittr., both
considerably smaller species with operculate oogonia. In this mater-
ial the suffultory cell of Oe. flavescens is usually distinctly larger
than the other cells.
