Thallus globular, the size of a mustard seed to nearly that of a pea, jelly-
like, not containing calcium carbonate; filaments somewhat dichotom-
ously branched, forming lax, rather flaccid fascicles; primary filaments
averaging 12 mik. in width, with cells 1—3 times longer than broad;
cells of branches 8—10 mik. in width, usually somewhat longer than
broad ; terminal cells of branches prolonged into very long bristles.
