In soft, loose, short-threaded masses, in vegetative state light green,
where fruiting occurs, dirty brown; vegetative cells 32 mik. in diameter,
1—3 times as long as wide; fruiting cells not at all or only slightly
inflated.

In slow-moving water in tanks.
