  • Description

    Huge shrub with trunk-like ascending branches to ca. 7 m. Leaves coriaceous. Inflorescence branches thick, reddish-brown. Flowers fleshy (much visited by bees); calyx brown; petals fleshy, pink, slightly reflexed near tip with hooked acumen. Stamens with pink filaments and brown anthers. Ovary green with pink conical stigma. Unripe fruit green, warted like an unripe orange. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
