7550 ft.

In rocky (Park City Formation) soil S-facing slope with Artemisia
Stenotus & various grasses. Herbaceous perennials from taproot
surmounted by thickened caudex; herbage & phyllaries hirsute
with spreading, multicellular trichomes to 1.5 mm long; phyllaries
subequal, 1-nerved; disc corollas puberulent with sharp-pointed
hairs; pistillate florets 40-60, with spreading white ligules to 2 mm
wicfe; pappus biseriate with an outer series of short scales & an

inner of + 15 barbellate bristles; cypselae 2-nerved.
