MONO CO.: With lodgepole pine on pumice and
obsidian ridge, at the northeast base of
Glass Mountain, an isolated mountain between
the Sierra Nevada and the north end of the
White Mts. Ca T.2 S., R.29 E. Elevation
ca 2900 m.

Rays mostly 25-40, blue-violet. Species
giving way at higher elevations on the
mountain to E. pygmaeus (A. Gray) Greene.
