GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: Ford Spring: S-facing slopes
appx. 1/4 mi. SE of end of road, overlooking N end of Long
Valley. (Dexter Cyn. quad: 37° 46.366'N, 118° 50.154'W;T2S
R28E S13, SE/4). Alt.: 2591m/8500ft.

Steep S-facing slopes leading down to Long Valley. Soft pumice
soil with basaltic outcrops and occasional granitic outcrops. Burnt
and grazed areas infested with Bromus tectorum, with recovering
Artemisia tridentata / Purshia tridentata scrub. With
Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ribes cereum, Chrysothamnus
viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus, Eriogonum umbellatum,
Hesperostipa comata, Ceanothus velutinus, and common annuals
including Mentzelia congesta, Phacelia bicolor, Layia glandulosa.
Occasional in scrub.
