S of High Rolls in Carr Canyon, W-facing seep on bank, with piny on, juniper, ponderosa pine, Juncus, Solidago canadensis, Helenium hoopsei. elev. ca. 7000 -ft. Plants to 3 m. tall; stems fistulose; leaf bases strongly decurrent, -forming wings -from one node to the one below; up to about 14 leaves on the stem below the in-florescence, the leaves longer than the internodes; in-florescence forming the upper 1/2 o-f plant, to 3/4 m wide, branched at 30 - 40 degrees; -flowers white; plants biennial, rosettes common, this years plants obviously senescent.
