ssp. lanceolatus (Nutt.) Hall & Clem.

IDAHO, Owyhee Co., Owyhee Mountains, southwestern
flank of Quicksilver Mt. in T6S R3W; subalpine big
sagebrush/snowberry community on open slopes above
western juniper zone; rocky volcanic soil; south-
west exposure, 50% slope, 7000 ft.; occasional with
Festuca idahoensis, Symphoricarpos oreophilus,
Artemisia arbuscula, Lupinus holosericeus and
Cercocarpus ledifolius var. ledifolius; plants 0.5
meters tall.
