Cultivated in perennial bed in back yard.

Seed obtained from Park Seed Co. (Greenwood, South Carolina) in December
1990; sown in situ on 13 May 1991; germinated on 7 June 1991. Plants first
flowered 5 September 1991. Flowering this season began on 15 June.

Heibaceous perennial, 1 m tall; basal leaves petiolate, cauline leaves sessile;
phyllaries light brown, florets bright yellow.
