Near 34° 33’ 52.2”N 118° 20’ 46.6” W. T6N R14W NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec. 34. Elev. ca. 4600 ft. Steep, north-facing slope on metasedimentary substrate weathering to rocky loam soil. Somewhat open scrub of Quercus chrysolepis, Q. garryana breweri, and Cercocarpus betuloides with numerous open grassy areas. Shrub, inflorescences strict, not drooping. Occasional on mesic slopes.
