Lower Lewis Creek (also called Paynes Gulch) over high basalt
cliffs, between Grand Coulee and Coulee City, along Hwy. 155
and Banks Lake.

Very common in sagebrush grassland, nearly level, along road.
Shrubby, 2.1 m. tall, to 5 cm. in diameter.
