Campground consists of an open aspen-pine
community on rocky alluvium along creek bed.
Areas of disturbance such as campsites,
trails and roads also common.

In rocky soil near restrooms, near campsite
17, under aspens. Forming large colonies,
very common. Flowering individuals rather
rare. Heads with reddish tint.
