Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Cordillera Prov. Along gravel road eastward, just east of new highway from Santa Cruz to Abapó, the turnoff 3 km N of bridge over Río Seco.

Habitat
Chaco forest with Ruprechtia triflora, with some selective logging and minor grazing, flat. Soil fine sandy and clay.

Description
Tree 40 cm in diameter; bark more or less smooth, pale gray with long green stripes. Leaves all in poor shape. Flower buds with dark brown calyx and exposed parts of petals nearly black. Flowers falling (12:30 P.M., partly overcast) but still with thick sweet odor; petals greenish white; stamens white, numerous, in 5 fascicles united at the base into a tube 1-2 cm long.
