Habitat
On rocky ledges. At edge of mountain stream, rocky ledges abundant. Undisturbed forest. Vegetation dense, the very shaded undergrowth consisting principally of Begonia, Dorstemia, ferns, shrubs of Rubiaceae. Abundant.

Rhizomatous grasses, a few culms in flower but most inflorescences past maturity; seedlings common. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
