    On drier areas of meadow; subalpine dry meadow on granitic and basaltic alluvium, drainage E. Evidently grazed, with lots of headcutting around dry stream. Populus tremuloides woodland around meadow edges, Artemisia tridentata scrub above. With Purshia tridentata, Ribes cereum, Achillea millefolium, Elymus trachycaulis, Aquilegia formosa, Muhlenbergia richarsonis, Potentilla, Veratrum, Salix, Juncus, Carex. Common.
