    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Referred to EFMM Estrada de Ferro Madeira-Mamoré website for a map of the Madeira-Mamoré Railway route (http://vfco.brazilia.jor.br/ferrovias/mapas/1965-Estrada-de-Ferro-Madeira-Mamore.shtml, accessed 8/4/2014). This railway is no longer in use. Georeferenced to the geographic midpoint of the railroad between Bananeiras and Abunã in Rondônia, Brazil. Using the reference material, Google Earth, and Google Maps - Satellite View, located the antiquated railway. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the approximate location of the Bananeiras station and the approximate location of the Abunã station, then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the railroad nearest to the midpoint of this line; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the railroad segment. Input coordinates, linear extent (53669.4 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
