Deadline Ridge area S of Hanson, ca 1.2
mi S of Porcupine Spring on FR 538,

T15S R19E S5 sel/4, elev ca 6200 ft, W-
facing slope. Open community of Populus
tremuloides, Symphoricarpos oreophilus,
and Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana.
Also present: Ribes cereum, Lupinus cau-
datus, Achillea millefolium, and Madia
gracilis. Pits scattered, forming dense
clumps of numerous rhizomatous sts to 2
dm tall; rays dark blue-violet with tinge
of purple.
