Peru: Department Tacna. About 1 km S. of Rio Sama in dry washes. Sample size: 20;
growing in extremely dry situation in fine-textured soil washed into low places and
cracked to a fantastic extent; with very few other plants except some composites in low
clumps. L. chilense type in all respects; impression of high variability in leaf shape.
Latitude: 17° 50' 0" S; Longitude: 70° 30' 30" W. Elevation: 400 m.
