Peru: Department Arequipa. Atico. Km 743 from Lima; 100 km south of Chala. Rocky
mountain slope below Atico on first steep slopes cut by road. Associated with cactus,
yellow-floered succulent Crassuiaceae, Nicotiana glauca, Alstroemeria, and Nolana.
Population of 12 plants plus much larger group farther south on highway. Scanty foliage.
Spreading wiry paints up to 12 ft. tall. Fruits remarkably scarce on all parts of plants;
fruits unusually white at maturity.
Latitude: 16° 14’ 0" S; Longitude: 73° 40' 0" W. Elevation: 75 m.
