Description
Perennials from deep-seated, creeping rootstocks; leaves nearly glabrous; phyllaries dimorphic, the inner series united ca. 1/3 their length, with scarious margins often >1 mm wide; rays florets absent; disk florets with corolla lobes much shorter than throats; pappus of 2 hirsute, scale-like awns. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
