Habitat
Open scrub, trees to 8 m; moist slopes, small plateaus. Clusia, Melastomataceae, Malpighiaceae, Arecaceae, and Asteraceae dominants. Occasional bamboo thickets. Sandstone talus and boulders.

Description
Tree. Tree 10 m x 15 cm; leaves brown black-velutinous below, olive green above; fruit green to dark red. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
