Habitat
Hilltop pasture, on east-facing slope, formerly open. Becoming overgrown with Ulmus americana, Zanthoxylum americanum, Populus grandidentata.

Description
Tree 5 m. tall, 15 cm. diameter, 18 years old. Sapwood pale, creamy; the first ca. 8 years with characteristic pink-purple heartwood. Wood only slightly aromatic when fresh. Fruit green, a few damaged ones turning blue-purple. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw 46255. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
