Elev. 250 m. Bamboo in humid forest of tall trees and many lianas, on lower part of slopes of hill. Climbing, only the new culms erect for about 5 m, then leaning on trees, up to 15 m. Culms hollow, with thick walls, ca.; 2-2.25 m diam. with long internodes and prominent nodes. Culm leaf deciduous at the beginning of bud development.; blade reflexed, caducous. Primary branches thicker than the culm, with inflated bases; long (up to 1.25 m) with a leaf complement of several leaves. 00651137
