Glumes hairy, scarious-margined, acuminate, 1st
8-11 mm. long, 1-nerved, 2nd 14-16 mm. long 3-
(or 5)-nerved. Rachilla-joints hairy, 2-3 mm.
long. Lemma 14-19 mm. long, scarious-margined
rather prominently nerved, acuminate and with
teeth 2-3 mm. long. Palea sparsely long-ciliate
on keels.
