Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unable to find the precise location of "Mosqueiro beach;" instead, georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the beach adjacent to the city of Mosqueiro (on Google Maps named: Praia do Areão and Praia do Bispo) on Ilha Mosqueiro, Pará. Referred to Geonames.org for location information for Ilha do Mosqueiro (http://wikimapia.org/3789601/Mosqueiro-Island, accessed: 11/26/2014). Used the reference map and Google Maps - Earth View to find the beach adjacent to the city of Mosqueiro. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the beach. Because the beach does not have defined spatial boundaries on Google Maps, used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the nearest named beach, Praia Grande, then halving this distance. Input coordinates, linear extent (960 m), and measurement error (2.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
