Mpio. de Tehuacân, eastside of Tehuacân, Colonia
San José Tochapa, Cerro de la Caja de Agua, just
south of the army base; 18°28'55"N, 97°22'30"W,
ca. 1700 m. Common perennial forming small,
dense clumps; rocky hillside, xerophytic thomscrub
with Acacia, Agave, Ambrosia, Bursera,
Cnidoscolus, Croton, Euphorbia, Hechtia,
arborescent Ipomoea, Jatropha, Lippia, Mentzelia,
Opuntia, Pedilanthus, Yucca, and numerous other
Cactaceae and Fabaceae.
