  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unsure of location of farm of Sr. Caldez; georeferenced to 50 km. along Rio Cuieiras, a tributary of Rio Negro. Using Google Maps, located Rio Cuieiras in Amazonas, Brazil. Used measurement tool to measure approximately 50 km. (50.0004 km.) along the river from the confluence of Rio Cuieiras and Rio Negro. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates, on adjacent land. Used distance measurement tool (Google Maps) again to find linear extent by measuring the distance from the approximated geographic center of the confluence of Rio Cuieiras and Rio Negro to the farthest extent of the junction. Input coordinates, linear extent (1125.75 m.), measurement error (.01 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
