Growing on slopes of fine pumice. Among coarse tufted grasses and shrubs etc.

Description
Flowers deep pink to crimson scarlet, tubular to 1½" long, with wide open corolla. Inside tube cream-white with deep crimson veins on lower side. Stems red-purple. Stems to 2 ft. tall. Basal habit woody, brittle. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
