Forest edge, more or less moist soil, full sun.
Erect herb, up to 70 cm high, few branched. Branches grooved, green to somewhat purplish. Leaves green with very thin purple margin. Perigone persistent, white changing to green and enlarging; stamens and pistil white. Berries flaming red, shiny.
