    Short-lived perennials or biennials to 60 cm tall; lower stems with mostly 2-rayed (a few simple & 3-rayed) hairs; cauline leaves with auricles to 2 mm long; fruiting pedicels descending, to 22 mm long, with a few 2- to 5- rayed hairs distally; petals lavender, to 8 x 1.5 mm; pollen spheroid; fruits pendent, glabrous; ovules irregularly biseriate. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
