Carya glabra (Mill.) Sweet JUGLANDACEAE Tree 60ft tall, trunk diameter 18in, occasional, bark mostly smooth. In sandy loam (Arkport, Dunkirk, and Colonie soils, 20 to 60 percent slopes, eroded; coarse-loamy to fine-silty, mixed, active, mesic Lamellic or Glossic Hapludalfs, or mixed, mesic Lamellic Udipsamments). Growing with Pinus rígida, P. strobus, Quercus rubra, Q. velutina, & Sassafras albidum. In front of a house (not cultivated; an original forest tree) owned by Jerome & Gail McElroy, at 223 Dewitt Rd. (Inspiration Point Rd.?), Webster, Monroe Co. Elev. about 400ft. 43° 12' 42.8"N, 77° 31’ 40.6"W; UTM 18T 294658E, 4787442N (NAD83AVGS84).
