Chaparral dominated locally by Arclostaphylos glauca. A. glandulosa, Quercus wislizeni, Adenostoma fasciculation, and Cercocarpus betuloides.
Locally common multi-trunked shrubs 3-5 dm tall; bark gray, Assured; upper leaf surface ± glossy dark green, lower surface lighter dull green; acorns sessile.
