Rare, growing at the edge of a forest on sandy/gravelly- loam over dolomite, with Acer saccharum, Fagus grandifolia, Q. alba, Q. rubra, Q. velutina, Sassafras albidum, and Tilia americana. To the south side (top) of the Niagara Escarpment, but the beginning of the unpaved portion of the Bruce Trail, to the west of Brock’s Monument. Queenston, Regional Municipality of Niagara. Elev. about 550ft. 43° 09' 30"N, 79° 03’31"W.
