Tropical wet forest, disturbed. Infrequent.

Description
Tree 8 m tall, ca. 20 cm dhh. Branches ± verticillate. Inflorescences ramiflorous, arranged below terminal leaves, visited by many ants (Polichoderous sp.). Flowers fragant, with Curculionidae within. Calyx yellowish-green, sepals 4. Corolla intense rose, petals 8, arranged in 2 whorls of 4 each; outer petals larger than inner petals, ± weakly costate abaxially. Receptacle yellow. Leaves with ca. 35 pairs of lateral nerves. Phenology of specimen: Flower and Fruit.
