Quercus wislizenii A. DC. FAGACEAE Contorted tree 30ft tall, trunk diameter 1 ft, common. In an open, dry forest in gravelly loam (Yorkville-Yorktree-Squawrock complex, 30 to 50 percent slopes; Yorkville = fine, mixed, thermic Typic Argixerolls;
Yorktree = fine, mixed, mesic Ultic Argixerolls; Squawrock = loamy-skeletal, mixed, thermic Mollic Haploxeralfs). With Arbutus menziesii, Arctostaphylos sp., Pinus sabiniana, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Quercus chrysolepis, Q. kelloggii and Toxicodendron diversilobum. To the W. side of Laytonville-Dos Rios Road, at a bend in the road just E. from an old bam and farmhouse. Mendocino Co. Elev. 1720ft. 39° 42'
