Lewis m [0*1- 2291 Mimosa &*s<ne Leguminosae Jet- 6-PU^i Province Loja Loja, Universidad Nacional de Loja, just outside campus. 2145 m 79°12' W; 4°00'S 8 May 1996 Multiple-trunked tree, 7 m, largest trunk c. 25 cm diam., bark smoothish, grey-brown, young branchlets vertically striped, very spiny; leaflets shiny dark green above, paler below; calyx and corolla yellow-green, stamen filaments white, anthers cream; apex of extra floral nectaries reddish when fresh; young mid-green, shiny, older fruits blackish brown.
