Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the confluence of Lagoa Feia and Rio Ururaí in Quissamã, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; extending the uncertainty radius to account for the added uncertainty of the word "prox." (proximo, or near) in the locality description. Used Google Maps – Earth View to locate Lagoa Feia and its confluence with Rio Ururaí. Used the Google Maps – What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the intersection of the two waterbodies, on the adjacent shore (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the confluence (at: -21.950377, -41.399073). Chose the larger of 2 km or 200% of the linear extent and used as the final linear extent (according to Near a Feature of the Biogeomancer Guide to Best Practices for Georeferencing) Input coordinates, coordinate precision (.00001 degrees), coordinate source (locality description), datum (WGS84), linear extent (2000.0 m), and measurement error (5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Biogeomancer Guide to Best Practices for Georeferencing, Near a Feature).
