Rocky canyon and adjacent slopes of volcanic breccia and tuff; Associated with Abitulon incanum, Bebbia juncea, Jatropha, Lemaireocereus thurberi, Prosopis, and etc.

An uncommon, short-lived, prostrate perennial with bluish-purple flowers growing in the bottom of the rocky wash. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
