forest.
Spreading shrublet to 1.5 m. Bark
grey on old wood, pale yellowish
brown on new wood. Present years
growth reddish purple. Foliage
fleshy, glaucous bluish green with
purplish punctate glands on
undersurface and dense along margins.
Leaflets strongly aromatic when
crushed, stems aromatic when cut.
Cupular bract pale green with
vertical green sunken glands, calyx
lobes reddish. Petals lemon-yellow
colour, the standard blotched and
veined blood-reddish purple on inner
face, wings and keel petals blotched
reddish purple at apices. All petals
with small, glistening reddish glands
at apices on outer face. Calyx
papery, pubescent, pale brown veined
red. Seed green.
