United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: North Canyon. Approx. 750 m south of Highway 120, due south of Granite Mountain. (Cowtrack Mountain quad). Deep west-east canyon running parallel to Highway 120.

Habitat
Deep west-east canyon running parallel to Highway 120, cutting through Bishop tuff rhyolite. Heavily grazed canyon bottom with dry stream and soft pumice / rhyolite soil. With Pinus monophylla, small Pinus jeffryi, Salix, Artemisia tridentata, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Purshia tridentata, Tetradymia canescens, Cryptantha confertifolia, Hesperostipa comata. On cliffs and rocky talus, south-facing slopes. Rare perennial.
