Amazonas: along Demini River (a tributary of Araca River). Boat stationed at coordinates. Elev.
ca. 100 m. 00°18'05"S 62°46'00"W. "White" water river, actually a mixture of "black" water with
sediments. Collected up to 10 km N from boat. Shrub 3 m tall, producing abundant milky sap;
flowers horizontally oriented; calyx green, pinkish tinged; corolla tube pink, the lobes pinkish in
the center, white toward the margins abaxially, white adaxially. Specimen preserved in 70%
ethanol before drying.
