In dry woods and thickets. Occasional.

Description
A shrub or small tree with scattered sprayey branches 10-20 ft. Blossoms at intervals from Aug.-Dec. but most freely in Nov. at the end of the rainy season - the same tree blossomes two or three times. Stamens generally dark red, sometimes paler. Spines few or none except in large branches. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
