Bouteloua gracilis grassland with basalt rock and gravel, red-brown clay soil, with Astragalus lentiginosus, A. mollissimus var. matthewsii, A. nuttallianus, Erigeron concinnus, E. umbellatum, Geranium, Juniperus coahuilensis, Opuntia whipplei, and Potentilla subviscosa.

Description
Dense population, cluster of ca. 50 individuals within 20' x 20'; banner pale white with light violet around edges, wings darker violet, keel pale yellow with violet tip. Ants swarming center of many individuals. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
